Photography has always been a part of my life. My dad is an avid photographer and growing up he had a camera with him everywhere we went; birthdays, vacations, soccer games you name it, his camera was always ready to capture the moment. He is also a big fan of Ansel Adams. We had Ansel Adams' prints hanging throughout our house and I remember being mesmerized by his images from a young age. In a way, I guess photography was kind of ingrained in me from the start.

My passion for photography grew when I went on a family trip to Zion National Park after I graduated high school. My dad bought me a small point and shoot camera to document the adventure. On the trip, he taught me the basics of photography; exposure triangle, rule-of-thirds, etc. Zion was mind blowing, growing up in Alabama, I had never seen anything like it in person. The enormous landscape reminded me of the scenes I used to see in Ansel Adams' prints and I was hooked! Since then I've had an itch for outdoor adventure and a love for capturing it with my camera.
